The original grappa has its birthplace here in Bassano and it crowns a simple and genuine gastronomic tradition. And important are the vineyards and their production of tasty wine –well-known are the visits to the producers and their wineries. The fruits of its land include the spring production of the white asparagus followed by the peas of Borso del Grappa or the sweet cherries of Marostica.
Where the streets of Bassano open up to the countryside and the hills, villas and antique palaces dot the soft and sweet landscape with the marvellous backdrop of the Mount Grappa area– major reference for free flight.
A few kilometres north of the city, it is the Brenta River which dominates: the reign of canoeing and rafting, fabulous caves, cycling, horseback riding and golf.
